Taken by the Huntsman - frisky fae

Date read: 24th January 2017

Genre: Fantasy/fae/sexy romance

My rating: 4 and a bit

Phew, frisky fae!

I really enjoyed this book.
It starts with an almost childlike innocence, and an exciting faerie tale.
The big Huntsman is stalking his prey.

There's a great selection of fae creatures, and they are all well described and put into context.
I particularly like Patches; coolest bunny ever.

We discover the ultimate arbiter of Faerie is actually fair minded, and horny as hell.

Cassie, the lead female is feisty and tied to her independence.
So, clearly there's a slight struggle of conscience.

There's some light BDSM action as the fiery twosome tangle in bed. Hot hot hot!

Just one more minor, tiny edit would have me scoring that 5th star.

Summary; a good mix of faerie and frisky.

Review - We Shall Ne'er Be Younger - or sexier?

Date read: January 2017

Genre: Romance involving a marine

My rating: 5* without doubt

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I sensed some trepidation on the author's part in doing so. I am telling you this as I want it to be the last time she ever doubts herself in that way. This author has talent!

This book is beautiful.
I love that it centres on a couple in their fifties, and that it reveals how incredibly exciting new love is despite your age.
I also like that Emily is perfectly imperfect. She's not got model good looks, but does her best to have a good figure.

I was completely absorbed in the author's world of cotton candy love clouds.
I grinned inanely throughout most of this book.

Sure, they encounter obstacles; it's a romance novel and would be dull without any.

Emily has years' of experience, and I love how she has to struggle to keep Mike at bay.
This builds up some exquisite sexual tension which explodes across the pages eventually.
This is not an erotic book. It's a steamy romance. It's all appropriate and delectable.
It also keeps one foot in realism whilst having a dreamy hero (who has his flaws, obviously).

To call this a military romance seems to do it an injustice.
It's a steamy romance featuring a marine.

I felt all kinds of warm fuzzies reading this book.
One of the best books I've read in a long time.
Definitely recommend to a friend material.
