REVIEW - IMPrisoned - Captured my attention

IMPrisoned by Emma Jaye

Date read: 22nd September 2022

My rating: 5*
Genre I reckon: Dark Paranormal Romance (m/m)
Buy link: Amazon

Includes cameos of characters from the awesome Incubus series.

Oh, this book is fabulous! It's a brattish imp's tale told as a ghost story with a hint of dominance.

Alastor has been used and abused for 400 years as he carries out his sentence to end a male family line.
Darien never has been one to give up on a needy sub. Will he help break the curse or become the next in a long line of victims, though?

An amazing cast of characters with excitement galore. Mystery and steam are interwoven beautifully throughout. And we're even treated some fantastic historical insights. I did not want this book to end! The snark is off the scale. But so is the cuteness. This book drags you through all the emotions - love it!!

Oh, and the bonus scenes are fun (signup to newsletter required).

REVIEW - THE WITCH'S FAMILIAR - Grizzly fated mates

The Witch's Familiar by TJ Nichols

Date read: 17th September 2022

My rating: 4.5*
Genre I reckon: Paranormal Romance (m/m)
Buy link: Amazon

What a fab book! A maligned witch and an unusual familiar.
Neither of these guys were looking for love.
Jude just needs to get the job done to save his hide.
Mack is not quite your average small town grizzly dude.
Friction and resentment abound.
But the Fates can be tricksy.

There's a whole heap of danger and lust - a wonderful combo imho. Especially when there's magick thrown into the mix. And this one's all kinds of tingly!

Also, I love the beast's name. It's a genuine 'myth' but it still sounds very rude - LOL.

A fun, sexy take on the familiar trope with a good dose of excitement.

The first of a big series - yay!

A solid 4.5* from me.

REVIEW - SWEET LIKE CANDY - Mishaps Galore

Sweet Like Candy by Sue Bordley

Date read: 12th September 2022

My rating: 5*

Genre I reckon: Litcom

Buy link: Amazon

Look, if you're a human being who is easily offended, this is likely not the book for you. Dogs may also wish to give it a wide birth.

That caution out of the way, this book is hilarious! I actually snort laughed.

The MC clearly believes in equality - everyone and everything has the ability of annoying Candice (pronounced Candiss!). She speaks her mind which is sharp as a blade. But how wonderful to see such openness (so long as it's not directed at me).

Being the mother of two boys, and wife to a distracted husband is not easy. If you were then also surrounded by idiots, I bet you'd end up like her too. There were times when I could absolutely sympathise.

This is a self-titled litcom. Written in a series of episodes. Vaguely reminiscent of farces such as One Foot in the Grave.

There is a whole host of marvellous characters, and many unfortunate events.

What you get is a more realistic, view of British life. Albeit seen through a sceptical lens.

Definitely worth a read if you need a laugh.
