REVIEW - THE WITCH'S FAMILIAR - Grizzly fated mates

The Witch's Familiar by TJ Nichols

Date read: 17th September 2022

My rating: 4.5*
Genre I reckon: Paranormal Romance (m/m)
Buy link: Amazon

What a fab book! A maligned witch and an unusual familiar.
Neither of these guys were looking for love.
Jude just needs to get the job done to save his hide.
Mack is not quite your average small town grizzly dude.
Friction and resentment abound.
But the Fates can be tricksy.

There's a whole heap of danger and lust - a wonderful combo imho. Especially when there's magick thrown into the mix. And this one's all kinds of tingly!

Also, I love the beast's name. It's a genuine 'myth' but it still sounds very rude - LOL.

A fun, sexy take on the familiar trope with a good dose of excitement.

The first of a big series - yay!

A solid 4.5* from me.

REVIEW - BO NEXT DOOR - bo-tiful!

Bo Next Door by Duckie Mack

Date read: 23rd May 2022

My rating: 4.5*

Genre I reckon: m/m romance

Buy link: Amazon

Book 2 of the Love Bank series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone.

Sweet!

A m/m romance where one partner is a rock star, and one is a pet technician.

Bo has already transitioned, so that does not dominate the story. He's just a gorgeous young man faced with another scrummy man. And Ollie, the crazy dog!

I've not read anything with a trans person in before, but I have to say this was respectfully done. There was sensitivity, understanding, support and respect shown. Well done!

Bo and Ian each have their issues, thanks to past relationships. Can they now allow themselves to be vulnerable enough to give their potential relationship a chance? There are certainly challenges ahead!

What I loved was the chemistry and the sweet nature both these young men had. Such compassionate souls. Adorkable is the author's description, and I have to agree.

I also really enjoyed glimpsing Rider and Cam, the MCs of book 1.

If you enjoy m/m romance with all the feels, you're gonna want to read this!

Always in love and light,

REVIEW - Goodbye Paradise; helloooo happiness!

Goodbye Paradise by Sarina Bowen

Date read: 19th May 2022

My rating: 5*
Genre I reckon: m/m romance

Buy link: Amazon

OMG!! Him by the same author was my favourite read of last year. This book may be my favourite read of this year, making Sarina Bowen now one of my precious few one-click authors!

What she does so very well is pack emotion into each of her books. I laughed, I cried, I raged and everything in between!!

Caleb and Josh had a tough start - they were born into a cult. And their journey was full of uncertainty. Every step of the way I held my breath, anxious to see what would happen next.

There is an incredible sweetness to this pairing. I mean, Wesmie are still my favourite, but Joleb may be a close second! So much to unpack and explore.

If you love m/m romance you should totally get this!

REVIEW - Incubus Seduction - one taste leaves you wanting more!

Incubus Seduction by Emma Jaye

Date read: 25th July 2021

My rating: 4*
Genre I reckon: m/m Paranormal Romance
Buy link: Amazon

Confession; this book has been on my Kindle, awaiting my attention for YEARS - oops! Big oops!! It fell into a black hole, but I'm so glad I found it, lurking in the depths of my TBR.

This is a really quick, addictive read.

Poor, sweet, innocent Finn didn't stand a chance! A student trying to pay his way through uni with, quite frankly, a git of a rich boyfriend. Yet he still has his v card.

Enter Ezra, the incubus. And he needs Finn more than even he knows. There's more to this young man than meets the eye. πŸ‘ΏπŸ”₯

This book, as the title suggests, focuses on the seduction. And boy, is it worth it!!

Ezra may be a sex demon, but I'm happy to say there are elements of consent, even if it is tainted with some persuasion. And he's incapable of being a selfish lover - hello!! 😍

I've not read about an incubus before - I don't think it'll be my last.

Great characters, nice plot, sexy af - I want, no, need more! Oh look, book 2 is on my Kindle now! πŸ˜‰

UPDATE
Book 2 - read 25th July 2021 - 4*
OMG this series is ramping up and I'm hooked!! Maybe Ezra is using his mojo on me?? Not even sure I'd mind - LOL
I may have started book 3 already πŸ˜‰

Book 3 - 26th July 2021 - 4.5*
Ahem. So, I might've just read book 3 already.
Just OMG!!! Grabbing book 4 - I NEED to know.
Ezraaaaaa!!!

Book 4 - 26th July 2021 - ungraded
Um...gotta be honest; could have done without this one. It's a really gruelling read.
It's basically cover to cover details of the abuse Ezra suffered at the hands of Silas and his clan.
If you have triggers, this is probably not the series for you anyway, but this book in particular.
The verdict of the trial doesn't appear until the beginning of book 5 btw.

Book 5 - 27th July 2021 - 4*
SO satisfying!!
I'm a sucker for a hero in need of medical attention.
I just love Ezra and Finn!!

And...
I'm gonna finish here. I've loved this series but it ends on a good note with book 5. I've read the blurbs.
Book 6 is a prequel - tbh I'm not bothered.
Book 7 - the blurb has Finn questioning Ezra's love and I feel he should probably know that by now.
So yeah, ending on a good bit.

Always in love and light,
