OMG this book is the cutest! And exactly what I needed, having read and researched a lot of heavy-going tomes of late.
This is perfect reading for the 'Ber' months.
So, we have Mitsi Blunderlock, a recent graduate of the Bloombubble Academy - see, aren't these names just ultra cosy?
Anyway, she's not able to fly (not her fault, she just argues with gravity). She embarks on a journey to discover her true calling.
There's a whole host of whacky characters including a debonair werewolf (who always seems to be in wolf form), quiet-loving mice, baking opossums, harpies who love harpies, and a frequent-asher phoenix. There's a town grump for good measure. But a mouse does cause physical harm to her husband, which felt jarring considering the super cosy vibes everywhere else.
Kindness wraps this entire book up in the cosiest of hugs.
Make a pumpkin spiced latte, grab a cinnamon bun, curl up under a blankey and indulge in this cuteness.
No romance, just the love of community and found family.
Gives The Worst Witch in Brambly Hedge vibes.
